This morning, I sent the manuscript of Live Free or Die to the publisher. Now the fun begins.
It is still in the “Work in Progress” category because it has not yet gone through editing/copyediting (officially but it surely has been gone over carefully here in the Southard household). I like to think it will not require huge editing. Actually, I’d have to say that I think this book is the best edited of any I’ve written before sending it off to the publisher. We’ll wait and see what they think!
Next up? Two possibilities: Memoir- The Twenty Year War (Living With A Greatest Generation Father) which is about seventy pages along or True Crime- Murder in a Small Town: The Tragic Death of Stacey Burns which, as anyone who has been reading this blog knows, is in limbo right now as no new information is surfacing.
There is a third possibility- another novel! A short story I wrote a few years back place second in the Society of Southwestern Authors writing contest for fiction and I think it has possibilities for a longer story.
Anyone out there care to tell me which one you would like to see me write next?
My two-cents: I really like The Twenty Year War memoir! Work on that, while waiting for a conclusion to the Stacey Burns book (if there ever is one).
Morning Duke… without hesitation or doubt, the story of Stacy Burns needs to be told. God Blesses and Protects You and Yours as you have carefully edited statements by others to be certain of complete accuracy and you could ??? include police published “statements” from media after verifying the source and getting written permission from media to publish their statements. Discrepancies may be obvious in media accounts and statements told you, especially the 20/20 interviews, which by the way will also bring media exposure to your book. The interviews.
The book will be an overnight success because it is an unsolved mystery, so very popular today. Your readers will help lead authorities to the arrest and convict the person(s) involved in her murder and will help to bring PEACE to Stacey’s restless spirit and her beautiful children can begin to heal at last. GOD BLESS YOU!
