This is the first official post on this blog with the newly revised and updated website. Check out www.dukesouthard.com for literally hundreds of posts and comments about the Stacey Burns murder, now coming up on fourteen years ago. (May 9/10, 2009)
Some would rather I not start writing posts about this case again as it brings back terrible, sad, and tragic memories. I can see this point of view clearly; however, after fourteen years, I thought another look at things might shake something new loose and her brutal, vicious killer could be put where he or she belongs, wherever that might be. It wouldn’t be a good place.
As mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been reading portions of “Murder in a Small Town: The Tragic Death of Stacey Burns” to the Green Valley Writers Forum and continually receive encouragement to publish what I’ve written thus far. In this and future posts,
Here is snippet from Page 1, written over ten years ago.
“As absurd as it may be, uncovering the truth of Stacey Burns’ final thirty six hours on this planet proves to be daunting. What actually occurred during that time blurs into an elusive, nebulous, and ultimately frustrating search. ‘I only know my truth,’ says one of Stacey’s friends, obviously implying that others may have their own versions.”
That’s it for now. If you are so inclined, leave a message telling me what you think of my revised website and this new effort to bring the murder of Stacey Burns back into public view.
