Mark Twain always represented an eagerly anticipated unit when I taught American Literature to high school juniors. At least, I eagerly anticipated it. Where else could you find such delicious humor, vicious satire, clear writing, and brilliant observation of human nature in one author? Recently, I was rereading Letters from the Earth, with a subheading of Uncensored Writings by Mark Twain.
