In my imagination, I often picture writing letters to those I have lost- my grandmother Ledoux, my Uncle Bill, my son, Gary, etc. etc. etc.)

I’m sure there are those out there who would like to write a letter to Stacey Burns. Since October, 2010, I’ve worked on developing an accurate narrative of her story up until the time she was murdered. As mentioned before in this blog, this narrative is missing key elements but that is not the purpose of this post. In a letter to Stacey, I would have so many questions, which I may or may not elucidate in future posts. For now, the major element of the letter would be simply this.

Dear Stacey,

I am so sorry for the horrible death you suffered at the hands of a psychopath. My hope is that you are resting in peace and may those you left behind have the courage to see that you can rest in peace by actively seeking, finding, and punishing the one or more persons responsible for your reprehensible death. I think I’ve discovered in my research and interviews the special person you were to so many. I can only hope that those you touched can have the fortitude to make sure that you truly rest in peace, knowing they have done their best in your memory.
