FreeGiveawayWilliam Shakespeare in Macbeth provides us with this pessimistic view of life. “It is a tale told by an idiot,” Macbeth says, “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Most of us will not identify with this viewpoint. We’d prefer to think that as we “strut and fret” our hour on the stage, our lives will hold some meaning. To me, it seems a simple thing to make a life meaningful. We only have to make a difference-not a dramatic, earth-shattering, life-altering difference but a positive difference in our immediate world.  Sometimes, just doing the right thing is enough to make a difference.

By now, some of you are wondering what the point of this post might be while others may have guessed. I know there are people who could make a difference in the lives of many others by helping to bring the murderer of Stacey Burns into the justice system. If this killer continues to walk free, can anyone be blamed for agreeing with Macbeth? Life is full of sound and fury, but in the end, it is meaningless if we strut and fret without making any difference in the important things.

Apologies for this philosophical rant . . .
